Here are some of the images I have created with photo montage. Essentially I take bits and pieces of various photographs and splice them together to create a different work of art. Photos courtesy of Robert Coombes copyright 2007 Zone 3 Photography.

Caught in a Web

My first attempt at creating montage with human figures. The background photo was actually taken by me with this idea specifically in mind. I intend to explore this imagery further with a better backdrop.

The Mermaid of Coral Rock

I explored my creativity a bit more with this one and I feel it's considerably more fluent than my first attempt. Creating floating hair was the biggest challenge of this piece.

Apocalyptic Queen of the Galaxy

I had a lot of fun with this one. Our model Suzanne just screamed Barberella to me in this shot, so I created a space scene and futuristic gun from scratch to bring this piece to life.

Attendance

Suzanne was a tonne of fun to work with so I decided to take the naughty school girl image to the next level. I gave her a bloody knife and used her legs from another shot to create the corpse.

The Mermaid of Pirate Cove

Here I have Yvette, taking my mermaid imagery to the next level. I've improved on my floating hair and added a sunken ship. This is one of the most extensive montages I've ever created.

The Snow Queen

The lovely Suzanne adds warmth to this icy scene as she guards her palace as The Snow Queen. Several images were used to create the backdrop for this image including two snowy landscapes and an unfinished Muslin temple.

The Lightning Nymph

When we first did the shoot with Amber I knew I wanted to combine her image with some that Rob had done of a plasma lamp. I wanted to create something with a black magic feeling to it. I used three separate photos of the plasma ball to create the Nymphs magic and used a layering technique to give her legs a faded out genie in a bottle effect.

Reflection

The twin hallways in the abandoned military base made me think of looking into a tinted mirror. So in Yvettes reflection I created a cooler more shadow like image.
